German Shepherd

PROS: Size & Power, equals intimidation and there's nothing that deters a "would-be bad guy" like an 85lb German Shepherd! German Shepherds are very loyal, and tolerant of young family members. They pack lots of power and are well suited for families who enjoy an active life style. Cons: Many individuals can be slow to mature, which means a longer wait time before being availabe for active duty. Excessive shedding can be expected with owning a GSD, which can be limited through feeding a raw food diet. This breed is has the propensity to Bloat, Finding a good specimen who can engage a bad guy and be trustworthy at your five year old's birthday party can be hard to come by. When available, our GSD's are usually dark sable and come from Czech Bloodlines. |
Belgian Malinois
Used as a police and military dog around the world, the Malinois has become very popular over the past decade.
Pros: The Belgian Malinois is a highly intelligent breed, it's gene pool isn't plagued by any known disease or genetic weakness to date. The breed is hardy, and can perform in any climate. Malinois are very athletic and possess a lots of endurance for work. They are handler oriented, and make a very trustworthy family companion. Cons: Highly intelligent breed that requires interaction and constant stimuli. They can be a complicated dog to train for a novice, and due to current popularity they are being over produced by novice breeders. |
Dutch Shepherd
A very competent canine that excels as a guard dog would be an understatement. The Dutch Shepherds are among the extreme of all shepherd dogs when it come to agility, catch, obedience, sport dog competitions, guard work, herding, and leadership. Protective to their territory and an enthusiastic worker, this dog is highly intelligent. They can be very strong and will challenge their handler when in drive. Overall, The Dutch Shepherd is: agile, enthusiastic, intelligent, obedient, and very loyal to their handler. Unwanted visitors will be stopped in their tracks when confronted by this breed. We breed Dutch Sheperds on occasion and recommend these to our police K9 units.
